I don't know why, Miramax took it and shelved it, but this was before mobile phones.
He was out there one day, he was quite a good artist, and he was sketching what was beyond the trailers when we were in the countryside.
And he would then fax that to his family to show what was going on.
And then he would ask questions.
There's so much waiting when you film something, so much waiting.
He'd go, what's your favorite restaurant?
And he'd start these wonderful conversations.
And then intermittently, he'd reach out every now and again and send an email or something.
Oh, I saw you in this and I did that.
And he loved his vineyard and all of that.
That's a good memory to have.
