No, it was through, it had a back door and like a wee little hall door and he was kind of in the kitchen, the right hand side.

I could see through the gap in the curtain where he was, but I would have come back in case he'd done something to the glass, but I was able to communicate about him through the back door and there's two guards beside me with shields.

So I was communicating, but then one of the other sergeants that was there said they had seen, and then the ASU had arrived.

There was three of them, but they'd seen movement with one of the kids upstairs.

So there was a decision made then we keep going, but we may have to go in the front.

Well, they would have to come in the front door.

There was an on-scene commander.

I don't know where he came in, but on that one there, I'm not sure there was three of us who were sergeants.

And we kind of agreed that if this, we couldn't have the child come down the stairs and see her mum, we may have to do something.

Well, unfortunately, I was the one who looked in and I could see the bottom half of her torso and she never moved.

Never moved.

I could see.

This was in the kitchen.

This was in the kitchen, yeah.

I couldn't see the top half of her, but I could see the bottom half.

And I knew she wasn't bothered.

Potentially had passed away before we had come, you know.

Unharmed.

Yeah, I suppose if it had happened while I was there...

I don't know how you'd feel, but I honestly believe it had happened before any of us had arrived.
