in the the mission in the indie scene of that time yeah i'm talking post post post punk yes the indie scene is split into kind of goth and indie with a small eye yes so the wedding present half man half biscuit the fall stuff like that so when you went to an indie club
as a teenager in the mid 80s to the late 80s.

Kids like me in their kind of mother's cardigans, looking a little bit wimpish, into the Smiths and stuff like that.
And some of those kind of industrial types that were into New Model Army and all that kind of stuff.
But that was the indie scene.
Those were our bedfellows.
But it wasn't like a Mods and Rockers thing.

The indie kids and the goths.
were kind of fine with each other.
And we all, with bands like The Cure, we had a sort of foot in each camp.

Yeah, so I kind of forget the origin of this, but it was in Nottingham where they exploited a loophole in a local council that meant that you could have a certain amount of pubs per square metre
