It's fascinating.
You mentioned at the beginning the International Care Ethics Research Consortium.
You've been closely involved in the development of the consortium.
You co-wrote the report on the inaugural conference in Portland, Oregon in 2018, which I also attended.
You wrote that for the International Journal of Care and Caring.
And then more recently, as I said at the beginning, in 2024, you co-edited the collection, which emerged from the 2021 conference in Ottawa, with that title, Decentering Epistemologies and Challenging Privilege, Critical Care.
Care ethics perspectives.
Your own chapter in the book is entitled The Commitment to Care and Unwavering Epistemic Decentering.
I was pleased to see that you quote frequently in that to that chapter from the work of my urban university colleague, Pavati Ragouram.
And in the in the chapter you argue that a key part of care as an ethical theory is that it demands an unwavering epistemic commitment to decentering ourselves, our knowledge claims, and therefore our specific notions and practices of care.
In other words, what we know care to be must always be decent by the how we know of care ethics.
And in the chapter you explore what it means to descend to the self.
And you acknowledge this is tough and difficult work.
So it's kind of returning returning to the subject of your um monograph in a way.
Why is it important for those of us working in the care field to engage in this constant process of decentering and how on earth should we set about doing it?
Indeed.

And you mentioned Maurice Hammington a number of times, Maggie, and in twenty twenty two, which was obviously a very busy and productive year for you, um you co edited with Maurice, who obviously was my guest on an earlier episode of the C of Careful Thinking, and he's been a great friend and supporter of the podcast.
A special issue of the journal Philosophies on feminist ethics confronts mainstream philosophy.
And your contribution to that special issue has the title Violence and Care, Fannel and the Ethics of Care on Harm, Trauma and Repair.
