At the time I was a real estate agent and I specialized in um leasing commercial property.
And when the market fell apart for us in nineteen seventy nine
Um, my husband and I just kinda looked at each other and said, What's next?
And a friend of ours was Chris Friedrich, who was the founder of Money Mailer.
And he proposed the opportunity to us and we said
Sure.
It sounds like fun.
And honestly that's that's as simple as it was.
It was a blast.
Um, we were all young and a and a little crazy and we didn't really know what we were doing, so
It was making it up as we went along.
Uh it was different every day because we were selling advertising to local businesses and it really got me excited.
I didn't understand what franchising was before I got into this.
And now most of my clients were franchisees of other brands.
And we were selling to those local outlets and I learned so much and probably met some of the greatest people.
Yeah.
Now I'm a New Yorker that transplanted to California for the weather.
That is a small world 'cause I don't know, I Brockport was a little bigger than Geneseo at the time.
We were a very small school.
It's gotten big now, but it was very small then.
