We had nothing to worry about.
Like we had, I used to hear about Vietnam and that was about the size of it, you know.
But like really we're educating the kids now to a very high degree and some of them really, really want it.
There's a lot of pressure from parents, from schools to perform, you know, to the highest of their ability, which is fine.
But there's some other kids that like really crack under that pressure, you know, but they still do it.
And maybe they need some support from a parent or a teacher who's sympathetic to say, well, maybe if this is not for you, there's like loads of other ways into education and getting what you want to get.
Pathways is the big word.
There are pathways for everything and every kid now.
It is, yeah.
And not going on about myself, but I did.
But I mean, I took the hard way and I learned an awful lot.
And then a roundabout way, I suppose my kids learned an awful lot from that, you know.
And...
Just talking about the hard work.
I mean, it's hard work going to school and doing your leaving cert.
But I've watched Cian, my son, getting up at four in the morning to go and work in a kitchen at the lowest level in there, you know, and then gradually rise up, you know, through the kitchen ranks.
And he was in Wimbledon last year cooking for the tennis players, Radhika or whatever, making her breakfast.
And he was down in Silverstone a week later doing the...
the car racing, you know, with a group of chefs.
And he's back in Bray now.
