And brother were involved in pizza.
And that's how I got into Pizza Factory with my husband Bob.
Back in 1988, we signed our first lease.
Back then, when you signed a lease, it was quite a while before you opened your store.
So two years later, we opened up our first store in Southern California.
And from there, we grew within the area, eventually developed five other stores in the area, anywhere from 1,500 square feet to 5,000 square feet.
So that's how we got.
Involved in Pizza Factory, was choosing that brand because of family.
And eventually 2012, after working as a franchisee, I had been on the marketing team for the company, been an area developer, had tried my hand in a few different areas, but the founders were getting ready to retire.
They had been doing it since 1978, done a great job, but they retired.
They were done.
Keeping up with the technology was something they
just didn't want to take on.
So they approached my husband and I in 2012 want to know if we would be interested in purchasing the franchise.
So as most people would do, we took a vacation.
To sit back and go, Okay, we have to think about this and decide whether or not we were up in age.
We weren't in our thirties or forties.
And basically my husband, after talking about it for a couple of weeks, trying to decide if we wanted to take this next journey, he said to me, Bob says to me, he says, Well, what do you expect from me?
And I said, Well, I don't really expect anything.
And he says, Then you go for it.
