Yeah, actually it was it was not a franchise, it was an independent and uh it was called MJ's Donuts.
MJ for Mary Jane.
was in Southern California and it was a very, very tough business being that you have to get up at midnight, two o'clock in the morning.
Uh and uh so that that really uh took me about three years to figure out that those weren't the kind of hours that I wanted to keep.
So that's where uh again I decided to go ahead and sell that and and my family was in Pizza Factory and and so I knew of the brand and
wanted to get involved and we knew there was a community growing
end up coming in the Southern California area and
we wanted to uh take the brand and take the the culture to that town because we knew it would be a good fit.
There wasn't multi unit agreements with Pizza Factory and there still aren't today right now.
Basically we started out with the one store and then just one by one we would
add on to our uh portfolio of stores in this community.
And we kinda laid out a little diagram of a map, so to speak, to make sure that we covered the areas of the community.
And we just
every two, three years we would open up another store.
So it really wasn't uh it it it wasn't any kind of a master plan franchise agreement or anything like that.

Uh and I'll go into that a little bit more detail, but you're right, the original founders
their concept was to go into small towns, ten thousand people or less, really small towns, places where the bigger brands would probably not go to because it didn't fit their demographic.
We never looked at demographics on a piece of paper.
