Because why do you use more tight ends now?
You know, it's always a counter to what defenses are doing.
And right now, defenses are more split safety or too deep coverage, right?
So if they're going to be in too deep coverage, you're going to bring more tight ends in the field to get a size advantage, to get a numbers advantage in the run game, and also create matchups in the pass games.
So I do think you're going to see that more consistently from Ben this year.
You know, they were high last year in terms of number of 12 snaps and the number of 13 snaps.
And I think those numbers will grow this year because that's where the league is trending right now.
And you saw it in the draft, too.
Guys, in the second round of the draft, there were tight ends that 19-20 receptions getting drafted.
Why?
Because they can block.
Because they can set edges in the run game.
And if you can't set an edge from an offensive perspective, you can't run the football.
So I do think that's going to be a big part of the Bears' run game, but also what they do from a pass game perspective.
Right, and that all depends on your personnel.
Look, I will say this with bringing Kalief Raymond in.
Kalief Raymond was brought in to be that vertical stretch target in your offense.
He's the guy that can lift the safeties.
What I mean by that is he runs a clear out route, those safeties have to turn and open.
Now you have a window down the field to throw the deep end breaking concepts, right?
