A lot of people weren't rallying behind it, not that there's a lot of experts in the amateur draft as much as there are in football drafts.

because there's high school and everything else, but credit to the Pirates.

They got it right.

They got it right with schemes.

They could have took Dylan Cruz there.

They've got a lot wrong that people complain about, but those are two picks that they got right, and it makes them an interesting franchise with these two great young players.

No, not at all, because you think about what's the Pirates' futility been the last 10 years, more offensively than defensively.

And so you take skeins over like, wow, we need hitters, we need hitters.

We've been saying that forever.

And you passed up two, you know, Cruz has got off to a rough start.

Lankford's got off, you know, had some injuries, but been pretty good.

But like, it wasn't this no-brainer, because you also take...

taking a pitcher who had a unbelievable workload in college to win that national championship too, that can put you in a, you know, that can put you in a spot where you're taking somebody that has an arm that's been used.

You've seen, there's been other guys that have gotten drafted in the first round that have led their team to a college world series championship or the finals that never make it or get hurt right away.

So there was some, there was some risk behind the Paul Skeen's pick.
