It's like I'm owning the criticism.

It's all good.

But it's fine.

I actually like, well, I mean, The Midnight Library was my, I suppose, my most well-read book.

And it's also the most divisive.

And unfortunately, in this internet age we're in, the more divisive something is, the more successful something is.

So you kind of can't be a writer out there in the world and being hypersensitive about it.

I used to be very hypersensitive.

I'm definitely not saying I'm above that.

I used to be very impacted by every Amazon review or whatever it was.

But you can't.

So it's a way of like, I don't know, embracing it.

I'll give you an example.

I can't remember his name, but there's this YouTuber in Brazil who's got like a gazillion subscribers on YouTube.

And he, before the Midnight Library was anything in Brazil, he did this video.

And it's called, Is the Midnight Library the Death of Literature?

And that made the Midnight Library in Brazil because so many people then defended the Midnight Library, went to read it, they didn't like it as usual, blah, blah, blah.

So it just became this big sort of viral thing in Brazil.

And I just thought that was just a learning curve for me that it's all noise, it's all good.

You write because you want people to have a reaction.
