Welcome to another episode of the Vanguards of Healthcare series.
My name is Matt Henriksen, the Medical Technology Analyst at Bloomberg Intelligence, which is the in-house equity research platform of Bloomberg LP.
We are pleased to have with us today Priya Abadi, CEO of AliveCore, a privately held medical device company developing AI-enabled electrocardiogram or ECG sensors.
Priya, thank you for joining us.
Thank you so much for having me.
And so, Priya, you've been at the helm since 2019, but what was the career path that led you to your CEO role here?
It's quite a path that AliveCore and you have taken to expand that technology.
One of the things that caught my attention when you talked about your time at Amazon is decoupling services from hardware.
And that kind of sounds, as you were closing out your remarks about AliveCore and going from the one arrhythmia to just enabling technology.
What does decoupling servicing mean?
And because that kind of builds into that, how that technology or how you're able to expand that offering with a live core.
So it seems like, you know, long story short is how does that experience at Amazon help you with that transition into the cardiology sector?
Yeah, that's quite interesting.
You know, from my perspective too, it's like just being at, you know, my annual physical and getting the 12 lead ECGs, that seems very burdensome in the doctor's office alone, let alone, you know, outside the hospital setting.
But, you know, let's just ground ECG in the market and the patients, you know, to start because it's not just, you know, one...
cardiac condition or another cardiac condition, there's several cardiac conditions ranging from atrial fibrillation to ischemia, heart failure, all these things.
So how should the listener ground just the cardiac monitoring market in general?
Are there specific segments that are more
you know the larger opportunity a more important opportunity for these patients to be monitored uh just kind of thought how you view this overall market opportunity
Yeah, that's interesting.
