And I was, I would say, satisfied with the conclusion of this game.
But I do think that the cast is a bit
overstuffed with people.
I think the first half, you end up hearing a lot of monologues of people going crazy, and there's all of these like, oh, you'll probably understand this later, but here's what, there's weird stuff going on here, and it kind of
you know, resolves later.
But man, like the story starting this game, the story feels like walking into a movie 30 minutes too late.
Also, you mentioned the story being unveiled between runs.
I think that
I mentioned an overcorrection to a wider player base here.
I think they are so concerned with people not falling off of this game that it's hindered it.
Some of the story in this game, I'm pretty sure is entirely optional.
Some of those things that deliver story between your runs, I think you can miss pretty significant ones if you're not going around talking to people
and that's not great in my opinion and just the tagline come back stronger that they kind of keep pushing is like very much geared at people who fell off of Returnal it's very much a reaction to like
If you die, don't lose hope.
You'll be stronger next time.
And yeah, that's true, but also there's a satisfaction in games when you die and you try again and you then get past that obstacle because you've learned, you've adapted, you've made the adjustments necessary to overcome that challenge versus...
Okay, well, you died.
Well, what if it was a little easier next time?
And so there's less satisfaction in the cycle for me in this game because you're continuously just getting stronger.
So it's like, I don't really need to dial in all the time
