Well, one kind of surprising aspect of just the growth of the private equity industry is, as this segment of the market has grown, there's also more competition for deals, more dollars chasing after the same assets.
So you would expect that investors might look at private equity as well and say, is this area getting a little overheated as well?
One thing we hear from some of these founders and leaders of these big private equity firms is investors do realize that, and they do expect to perhaps earn lower returns on their private equity investments in the future.
But nonetheless, a lower return for your private equity bucket may be better than the lower return you're going to get in stocks or in bonds or elsewhere.
For investors, it's all about relative value.
Even as private equity becomes more of a crowded area, the view from the bulls, I suppose, is that it's less crowded still than some of what you might find elsewhere in the markets.
Well, it's just worth keeping an eye on because the last time we saw, you know, the emergence of these kind of mega private equity funds was in the mid 2000s in the run up to the financial crisis.
So the bigger and bigger these things get, the bigger deals they can do, the more money is at stake.
And if we hit a bump in the road, it just means the stakes are all all the more higher.
Thank you.
