That's amazing.
Well, I think one thing that stands out when you watch him on tape is instincts, his play instincts.
Very good linebackers get to jump on plays and make plays behind the line of scrimmage for years.
Usually that reason, because they can key and diagnose very quickly, whether that's from game preparation in terms of film study, knowing formation, alignment, down and distance.
But you watch him on tape, and he gets an excellent jump on the football in terms of the play and where it's going.
That's why he made so many plays, negative plays, versus those offenses.
He's a very good blitzer.
You see that on the tape, too.
He knows if you give him a long runway,
Coming from the second level, he can drop the hammer on running backs and protection.
He can also set them up to get them back in their heels where now he can take advantage of a one-on-one situation.
I don't think he's an elite defender in coverage.
You don't see that on tape.
But I think he's a very aggressive defender.
One, someone that's going to help you immediately when you draft in the fifth round, especially a linebacker on special teams.
That's how you make the football team.
But also something that can provide depth and ultimately you want to develop into a future starter.
