If you're not going to double him at the level of the screen, when he gets downhill, stunt hard with both guys bracketing, but make sure they know they have to immediately turn and recover.
He will make the read to the kickout,
But I think you can kind of do that.
It gets a lot more complicated with the second unit, honestly, because when it's AJ Mitchell getting downhill versus their drop coverage, that's tough.
But I think their five-out switching strategy could be a lot better.
This is one where this five-out small ball that they're running right now could really help, especially if the Thunder go back to what they did in the last game, which was caused by the fact that they didn't have AJ Mitchell in part.
They want to get Shea back on basically a Jokic rotation of play the entire first, sit the start of the second, play the end of the second.
But if they decide to play Shea in the stagger minutes without Jokic, if you go small, Spencer's going to foul him, but he's going to get fouls anyway.
So I don't consider that to be a loss.
I think that's way better.
So I'm actually a little bit optimistic about them being able to win the non-Jokic minutes if they go to that small ball stretch five unit.
