He had such a nice family.
And this is a really good guy who loved his brother.
And imagine how wronged, you know, a person is.
I mean, death of somebody we love is the worst thing that we can ever experience, right?
Death because of murder is the worst of the worst.
But truly, I think the darkest thing we can experience as human beings is if you have somebody you love dearly,
And they're killed so somebody else can get money.
And that person gets away with it.
It's about as bad as it gets.
As a DA, especially for moms like Debbie Smith or brothers like Paul, it becomes kind of an addiction.
And when...
You know, when you go through those dark moments of trial and you're not sure in the issues and doubt, Paul came up to me crying right after the verdict and he gave me a hug and I can still feel like the stubble on his face.
And he cried and cried and cried and
It's an incredibly gratifying thing.
And like it was for good cops like Ray and Don.
And, you know, we got a really good judge.
That case was one where- That's what keeps you doing it.
It is, but it is more so than the stress.
