So what was your take on the Matthew Nye's whole situation?

Did you like what, did you think it was too much with the Canadians were giving up?

Did you think it was too little in a, it was Zorowski, another prospect that wasn't named a first round pick and a second round pick, if I'm not mistaken, or maybe it would have been two first round picks.

yeah i do too uh i would have done it and you know people kind of know my stance on prospects but especially at this stage in where the canadians are i'm gonna intentionally not use the word rebuild because i think that rebuild is over i think another phrase that uh you know i said this to brian wild a couple weeks ago i think a phrase that needs to die is the canadians are ahead of schedule

There's no more, you know, that's not to say they have to make the conference final next year or they have to make the Stanley Cup final next year.

That's not what that means.

What it means was going into the season, the Canadians wanted to make the playoffs, maybe win a round.

Now you need to make the playoffs.

So for the time that it's going to take, Zorowski, Hage, Bryce Pickford, all these guys, for them, if they were to reach their full potential, it's going to take four to five years.

And in four to five years, Nick Suzuki is going to be, what, 30 years old?

All of a sudden, he's no longer – he's exiting the prime of his career.

I'm not going to say he's finished, he's this, he's that.

But generally at that age, you're exiting the prime of your career.

You don't want to be wasting these prime years of Nick Suzuki waiting around for prospects to work out.

So all that being said, I would have done the deal for Matthew Nyes for sure.
