Former Trump National Security Advisor John Bolton has pleaded guilty to a single count of illegal retention of national security information.
Bolton was charged after sharing notes taken from his time serving in the first Trump administration with his wife and daughter.
After the hearing, Kelly Hayes, the U.S.
Attorney for the District of Maryland, said Bolton knew what he was doing was wrong.
Mr. Bolton knew how to handle classified information, where it should be stored, how it should be stored, and with whom he could share that information.
