He said, I feel very sorry for harassment.
I suspect that he had to get to a point that could cope with the idea of not having children of his own.
I think the miscarriage and opening up that wound in him at a time of nearly losing Fallon as well was something that he obviously felt unable to come to terms with, possibly not helped by Fallon, who was affected far less.
By that part of the incident, the harassment that I think didn't really care about it and also failed to understand why this may have made a difference to him because it didn't to her.
When my wife and I got married and we underwent some marriage preparation, we seemed to find it too easy.
When the celebrant who was marrying us came round, we raised this.
They said that the reason we'd found it straightforward was because we'd already discussed the big things.
Whereas a huge number of people haven't had any of those sorts of conversations.
And also, if you're a people pleaser, having to say to somebody, I know you want children, but I don't.
The risk of hurting somebody and you think somehow it's better to just not talk at all and stick your head in the sand and just hope that magically one of you is going to change your mind.
But there's a shelf life on this stuff and you have to face it.
There is a point at which it's now or never.
And if it's never, that could be devastating for the other person.
