It's kind of just a sad state of affairs.

It does seem very ego-centered to me, where it's like the federal government can come in here, but this is my jurisdiction.
You kind of saw that when he was threatening the representative.
It's like, oh, but you live in my county.
It seems very ego-driven.
It's like you have to do things my way or they're not going to get done.
And there seems to be just โ
It's a great way to get votes in Charlotte, too.
You've got to vote in the sheriff.
People seem to like that.
In Asheville, where I live, the whole city just came out and said, we're not working with ICE anymore.
We saw what happened in Minneapolis.
We're not going to work with ICE anymore.
um and it's they're you know a lot of these people are coming up for election so it's it's a great way to get votes from your democratic base but also it the thing is like as you're describing this i just keep thinking we're witnessing an insurrection
do you think north carolina could benefit from that kind of move from the white house yeah we've uh i forget which representative um mark harris uh has called for the national guard to be deployed to uh north carolina i don't think it's a bad idea at all i think it'd be very helpful uh but but again as a north carolina resident you wouldn't be intimidated by the troops would you you wouldn't be you wouldn't be suddenly fearful that american troops are in your state
No, not at all.
You know, if you're terrified of law enforcement, you probably have something to hide or you're doing something wrong.
I was sharing this story just yesterday, but, you know, I was detained by Border Patrol, you know, in Arizona.
I was near the border and, you know, a dog picked up on something on the car and they detained me and made me get out of the car and search the car.
