I almost say something about how much mom is smoking, but adults don't like it much when you point out the things they do when they're stressed.
I know she's hungry even though she won't admit it.
We haven't eaten much over the last two weeks and she's made sure I ate before she took Kenny herself.
Work is hard for mom.
And even though I don't know everything about her, I know enough.
She used to be someone important, until she wasn't.
Her family decided they didn't want to see her anymore, and I know that hurt a lot.
