Then I'm going to understand the motivations for why you did what he did.
I'm not going to agree with it, but I'm going to say, hey, given this set of circumstances, I can understand why you did it.
And then I'm going to diminish the impact.
I'm going to be like, hey, Matt, look, dude, what are we talking about here?
$5 million, $10 million?
What did JP Morgan take in 2008 or 2007 or whatever the case may be?
You didn't hurt anybody.
I mean, let's be honest.
All right.
Now, once again, I got to be careful with that.
But what am I trying to do?
I'm trying to pat you on the back.
Then I'm going to demonstrate tactical empathy, you know, by telling you stories that are personalized to you as to why you did this.
It could be medical bills.
It could be you're trying to take care of your mom.
It could be whatever.
And then I'm going to focus on the why and not the what.
So I'm going to be your buddy.
Right.
So the analogy I like to give is imagine if we were interrogating Harry Truman.
