I think a big part of the problem for Keir Starmer was, in a sense, failing to communicate and articulate a clear plan.

Some of what he did in office was welcome.

And I would say that, obviously, we're a centre-left party.

We are a sister party of Labour.

We sometimes get that thrown back at us in the Assembly up here as an accusation.

Myself and my colleagues, Clare and Colin, who are MPs, are not Labour MPs.

We don't take the weapon.

We often oppose them.

But there were important things done, including getting rid of a thing called the two-child limit, which was a really

pernicious rule brought in under austerity that prevented the third and fourth child getting support from the state, which caused real poverty.

But the problem was Keir Starmer's government got rid of that, but they didn't communicate properly the effect of it.

In fact, they whipped their MPs to oppose a previous motion from a different party on it.

They then communicated the abolition of it badly.

So even when they were doing good and important things, they couldn't really communicate it.
