I mean, and Alphonso Davies is that already.
His best Alphonso Davies is one of the top 15 players in the world.
I mean, we've seen that.
But someone from an offensive style, when you're looking at a Lamar, I'm not going to say a Lionel Messi, because a Lionel Messi, like a Cristiano Ronaldo, a Pele, a Franz Beckenbauer, you don't know where they're going to happen.
They're generational players that certainly, obviously, when they're incubated in hot-blooded football cultures like Argentina or England or France, and Mbappe's case...
But I do believe that given the talent base that we have here and the guys that I have been around on this team and watched develop from 2020 all the way to here, the level that I have watched Canadian soccer go to is like beyond words.
I mean, I'm very lucky to watch games at this level, right at field level.
And
to see the way, even in that first half when they, you know, Tani Olowashi, it's unfortunate he wasn't able to bury his chance, but Canada had an opportunity against Morocco.
The difference between Canada and Morocco is when they turn the intensity up, it's that level of execution.
It's that level of awareness.
We saw it in the first 39 seconds coming out of halftime against Switzerland.
And when you're watching these games now, Miguel Marino has just scored two winners, uh,
against two very good teams in Belgium and Portugal right basically at the last minute because those best teams are alive to the moment.
Every single player on that roster is alive to the moment, and there's depth.
But to have that one special player takes an atmosphere, takes a development culture in a country, and I think we're getting there.
Maybe not the next World Cup cycle or the next two or three, but I hope...
And when I'm old and gray, that the fruits, the children of this 2026 World Cup, kids who are now 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 years old, they will be leaving the country and they'll be considered among some of the best in the world.
Yeah, I think I go back to the point that I made about Jesse Marsh and his desire to create cohesion and symmetry through the development pathway.
The one thing, the problem, and Jason DeVos would know this better than anybody else, the problem that we've had for a long time at every level of the soccer pyramid in our country is nobody was really talking to each other.
