It was a strange weekend, obviously.
Nice silver lining to get to see you briefly, Don.
And actually, strangely enough, I feel like I saw Aiden.
Aiden came up and said hello maybe five minutes before all of this stuff happened.
Look, obviously it's hard to separate some of the president's comments in the past about political violence and in some ways his making light of some political violence against his opponents and some of the rhetoric with some of the things that we've seen in the country today.
You know, the shooter's motives and whatnot, as far as we know, or the alleged shooter's motives, as far as we know, seem quite different.
But obviously, it seems like, you know, there's been, as we've experienced over the last 10 years, a heightened concern.
uh political uh violent uh sense of political violent rhetoric um you know since uh trump kind of uh took the political stage over 10 years ago so unfortunately uh it's it's an it's terrible that we've had to kind of experience these types of things and um this was a really shocking and and uh surreal thing to be a part of a few days ago yeah it's looking at this but
Right.
I mean, you know, the sense that I had, the surreal feeling I had for, you know, about 30 seconds when we were kind of under the table there as I was watching the security, you know, kind of barrel through to grab members of the administration, you know, out of the way was, you know, first of all, obviously, you know, it was great that they were doing their jobs and executing in a really swift and efficient manner to kind of grab people out of the crowd.
But I thought to myself,
you know, if something happened down here, these guys are not here for me, obviously, and they shouldn't be.
But yeah, I mean, to your point, you know, the shooter obviously said that he would be willing to go through, the alleged shooter said that he would be willing to go through the folks that were there if necessary to kind of reach his targets.
And so, yeah, it was a really very surreal scene and unfortunate and bizarre evening.
And the comments, of course, afterwards,
you know, from Trump, you know, in response to that question, I think were not the comments that I would have chosen.
John, can I ask, because you've been in situations like this where you've had to react to some of this stuff live.
Obviously, I think him criticizing Norah O'Donnell in that way is – I mean, we're used to it by now, but of course –
