The only states that have independent redistricting committees, though, are Democratic states.
So I'm in favor of what we've seen California do or try to do, and I think other Democratic states should do the same.
But we've got to be honest about it.
We can't gaslight people.
We have to say we hate that we have to do this.
We have to say this is a race to the bottom.
But we are engaging in this as a response to what Donald Trump is doing.
What he said blatantly, too.
No one's making anything up.
And then we have to put as part of our platform, which is that we will end gerrymandering once and for all.
And then we have to do it.
Not just the campaign talking point.
It has to be one of the first things we do.
Yeah.
I say, look, I think a big part of this is obviously we just got off of an election where we lost.
And we lost pretty big in many different ways.
We lost the House, or we don't have the House, we don't have the Senate, we don't have the White House.
I think there's frustration on that.
Yeah, I've seen them, yeah, many different ones.
But I think people want to see us fighting with the same sense of urgency that, you know, that they have when they see these things going on.
