This attack yesterday took place in the span of 10 minutes.
And there were strikes all over Beirut, at least half a dozen.
And there were strikes in southern Lebanon and strikes in eastern Lebanon all within that short time period.
And that was what was so terrifying for people is that all of a sudden there was this really intense barrage of strikes.
Nobody knew what was going on.
Nobody knew what was being struck next.
In the past couple of weeks, we've seen a shift in some of Israel's statements about who it's targeting and why.
And then we saw Israeli military statements that were saying that Hezbollah has moved out of its traditional strongholds in some of these areas, you know, in the southern suburbs of Beirut and southern Lebanon, etc.
And they were now hiding out among civilian populations.
in parts of Lebanon that have other diverse sects in them.
And so these are statements of serious concern for Lebanese because it almost, in their minds, preempts more Israeli strikes on areas that have been so far considered safe.
Israel has ordered sweeping evacuation orders that cover 15% of Lebanon.
They've displaced 1.2 million people, and that's 20% of the population.
So imagine one-fifth
of the country just moving and moving in with either their relatives or their loved ones or their colleagues or the most vulnerable are sleeping out in the streets in these tents.
God help me, bring me back home safe.
The U.S.
has had to essentially recalibrate its alliances in Syria over the past 15 months.
The Kurds were their main ally.
They helped them defeat the Islamic State over years of fighting in the north and east of the country.
