Well, it's wonderful to be with you, Governor.

Thanks for having me.

Well, it's pretty simple, sadly.

And I once also served as an attorney in a satellite office of the Department of Justice.

It's that the Department of Justice is supposed to be the nation's top lawyer.

That means the top lawyer for we the people, the person who is responsible for making sure we're safe, we're protected, whether it's from consumer fraud,

white collar crime or literally hate crimes, you name it.

It also has a civil rights division, which is supposed to be a shield for us to protect our civil rights, like voting rights, like rights against being discriminated against.

And it protects all of us.

But what Todd Blanch has done and candidly and sadly, so many other high level appointees from this administration is to decide that they're going to be Donald Trump's personal attorney.

That is not the way the Department of Justice is supposed to run.

But it's very practical and how unsafe it makes the rest of us and how it's become a persecution machine rather than a prosecution machine.

And simply said, we cannot have a United States attorney general that is an attorney general for just Trump.

Exactly.

Look, I think it's an unprecedented statement.

It's a powerful statement.

It's a warning bell for everyone in this country, no matter your political party, your ideology, who you supported, because this is a group of people.

I'm actually one of the people who signed that letter.

And when I worked at the Department of Justice and I worked in the New York City Satellite Office,

You know, we have people on all sides of the political aisle working as attorneys there.
