Well, it was a match really that Cameroon controlled from the front.
They've been in three Women's Africa Cup of Nations finals previously, lost all three of those to Nigeria, and the big narrative heading into this final was the defence of Cameroon, which has been so strong in this tournament against the Chewinga sisters of Malawi, Tabatha and Tenwa, who have been so strong going forward scoring goals for Malawi.
But they were absolutely out of this match.
match throughout Cameroon tactically getting its spot on, their three goals coming in the first half, two for Marie Unga, one for Nomietto, and they held on very comfortably in the second half to make history lifting their first Women's Africa Cup of Nations title.
Indeed, they have never played at a cup of nations before, debutants making their way all the way to the final and of course getting to the semi finals of this tournament means they have also qualified for the Women's World Cup next year in Brazil.
And speaking to their captain Tabitha Chewinga after this match, she wasn't too disappointed, she just admitted that her side have lots of work to do over the next ten months ahead of that World Cup next year.
For Cameroon though as well, it's a brilliant story because they only made it into this Cup of Nations as a lucky loser when the tournament was expanded at the end of last year to sixteen teams.
So again for them it's a brilliant story.
But it's such an unexpected final we had here.
It just shows how quickly uh the gap in African football is closing, certainly in the women's game.
What I think is very interesting about both these finalists is how much support they do get.
So the Football Federation president of Cameroon, Samuel Eto, of course, in his time in his playing career, hugely successful player, arguably the most successful in the history of Cameroonian football, is very, very keen to support the women's game.
