And man, they just come up on you and things get wild for like, you know, 10 minutes and the wind and the rain.
And um, yeah, I just stopped at like a barrier and uh lean my bike up and like kind of hunkered down on my rain jacket for like probably five.
Five minutes while the worst of the rain passed.
And I'm just kind of sitting in awe, like, wow, what is happening?
And then it blows over.
Um, that section was pavement.
So, you know, you're you're kind of you have to be aware of cars and traffic and getting blown into the road, but you don't have to worry about the road turning to crap.
Um, after that point, though, I was like a little anxious about mud in the Gila because I know it's you know, if it stymied.
Like UBA the couple years ago, and people got stuck in it.
And um, yeah, I had like a sprinkling of rain in the Gila, but it was so hot, like it just like evaporated as soon as I hit the surface.
So um, very lucky in terms of weather, and you know, a huge part of my game plan was keeping my rain jacket close at hand.
So I I clipped it to my handlebars along with my vest so that I could.
I take it on and off on the go and I wasn't reaching into my C post bag and I still think that was a good system.
It was still nice to have it close because I wore it every morning, like mm, most mornings anyways, to stay to stay cozy.
But uh like yeah, that was one of my like big improvements was
you know, having it easy access so I wasn't always reaching my seat post bag.
Um and and yeah, like I said, it was useful, but not necessarily for the rain.
I got rid of some of the smaller packs on my bike.
I felt like I just kind of had stuff in a bunch of different places and it was getting a little bit dangly.
And so I kind of consolidated things into slightly fewer packs.
