It just yeah, I I think when you're used to having such low stop time and you do take a longer break, your body does something.
It transitions into that relaxation mode and it's really hard to get moving.
I because it's expecting some sleep now and you're like, Nope, sorry, tricked you.
Ha ha ha ha ha
Yeah, I ended up ahead of schedule um before the basin and I think the combination of like
good weather on those early mountain passes and keeping my stop time very low.
Um
meant that I was able to cover way more ground and to
break Austin's record, I would have to average like about 20k more a day.
And that's kind of what I had in mind.
But like covering that ground wasn't linear.
Like the first day I didn't cover any extra ground.
And the second day, I think I made it to Columbia Falls instead of Whitefish, which is like 18 more kilometers.
And then I ended up in Lincoln the third day, which is the same place I stayed in 2024.
And then all of a sudden
I kind of reached the point where the weather had really impacted me in 2024.
So without snow on Lava Mountain or Fleecea Ridge, I was able to cover like so much more ground and just really chip away at the time and
I'd never expected to be riding next to my call's dot and it wasn't like a sub fourteen day goal, like wasn't something I was planning on, but you know, it was exciting to chase after for a few days and and you know, it slipped away from me.
But I I think it's really cool to uh to be able to
like I guess recognize and compete against past riders on the course and to to be lining up against that legendary MH dot was was really cool for me and um yeah I think I
