If I had just stopped early and been like, Oh, okay, well I'm just gonna do a shorter day but I I could have, you know, probably returned to that whose cell hotel cycle.
But I was afraid that something would come up near the end, that I would have mechanical or the weather would turn or that slowing down a little bit would mean I would get stuck behind a weather system.

Once you give up time on an ultra, it's so hard to make it back up and I haven't had much luck in in making up on time in in events that I've done, so I just didn't wanna give it away.

It's tethered to the seatpost bag so that I cannot lose it because the media team won't pick it up and save it for me twice.
And it's just like some material, like uh I think it's like a reflective material maybe for insulation.
It's kind of like the stuff you put in your car windshield in the summer to keep the sun out.
Just adds like a little extra comfort and protection from the cold.
I find it makes a huge difference.
And I'm not willing to use a blow-up mat because if I get a puncture, I I know I can't deal with it.
So uh it yeah, kind of strikes that balance in there.
Uh definitely glad I have it.
I really, I really do notice the protection.
And I pair it with a emergency SOL sleeping uh you know, sleeping Bivi, like uh one of those turkey baster ones and a
Mm down bag rated to zero.
