Um, well, I have always thought that um mixing biblical mythos um and
you know, cosmic
Freakery is is really interesting, um, because you know, there is such a question of of belief when it comes to the beasties in the Bible.
You know, you like you hear about the Leviathan, the sea creature, all of that.
Um, and I've always been super fascinated by um you know monsters um from any source at all.
At first, when I was first drafting this, I thought, yeah, okay, it's just a it's just a secret juror, done and dusted, like that's it.
But the more I got into it, the more, you know, the the themes of identity and who are you and who are you made to be.
kind of got transposed onto the monster and I thought, you know, what if
it believes itself to be something that it's not.
What if it's just as unsure of what it is as the protagonist is?
And then, you know, everything comes back to D D.
Around the time that I was revising, we were fighting basically a biblically accurate eldritch being out of time.
Um, and I thought, wait a minute, okay.
What if these runes that they found are actually this celestial script?
What if this thing thinks it's an angel but it's not an angel?
