Fairfax County, Virginia Police Chief Kevin Davis says the community is shocked by this high-profile murder-suicide that was apparently tied to an ongoing domestic dispute over a messy divorce.

Davis said the couple's two teenage children were also in the home at the time of the shootings, and one was the 911 caller.

Davis said the department's Victim Services Division is working with the children.

Multiple Virginia politicians expressed their heartbreak in statements.

State House Speaker Don Scott called it an unspeakable tragedy.
