And, you know, like there has to be moments where the front office is irrational, but makes a move that they believe for that season pushes them over the top.
Like you look at last off season, like,
you know jed hoyer acquiring kyle tucker and giving up what he did to get him for knowing it would be for one season um you know kind of goes against the the playbook of you know how you build your organizational depth and all that and the health of the organization but like he recognized like this was a moment to address something that this lineup needed and it took
it took kind of going against what the team normally does.
And I think there's moments for that in, like, a team like the Brewers where, you know, I think at that point they had the best record in the majors because the Dodgers had lost that night.
Like, it just felt like a missed opportunity for Milwaukee, potentially a missed opportunity for a team like the Rays where it feels like the AL is pretty wide open.
So I know, like, a lot of the attention goes to, of course, the Dodgers got Scooble, but, like,
they were willing to take that gamble.
I understand that there's the idea that they can afford to, but they're also very good at developing talent.
The Brewers are good at developing talent.
The Rays are as well.
I think just my first thought was, I would be upset if I was a fan of the Brewers in particular, especially after seeing how the series went against them in the NLCS last year.
Good for the Dodgers that they were willing to pay the price to get a top-starting pitcher and go for it.
Right.
Yeah.
And like, and I totally understand that like part of the argument for people who are pro salary cap is, you know, the Dodgers can, you know, outspend potential, you know, development flaws or, you know, poor, poor development of young players.
Whereas, you know, a team like maybe Milwaukee can, but Milwaukee is one of the most loaded farm systems in the majors, if not the best.
And so, you know, like,
Are Brewers fans going to remember that, you know, they held on to these prospects who math says, you know, probably at least half of them aren't going to pan out anyway?
Or would they remember, you know, their team going for it?
