And what I mean by that is, like, you're talking about they've got to decide, identify guys.
This ownership group has won four championships.
And in the four they've won, all four times they were top three in payroll.
Like, they know better.
This isn't a new ownership group that's like, hey, we're going to model this.
Like, this is a conscious decision over the last five years to do things differently than they did before.
2018 had the biggest payroll in the game.
And it's a conscious decision to do it differently.
Jose Contreras, maybe?
I mean, that's before Teixeira.
I think to that point, and I would say with the Dodgers too, if you look at all the moves, Brad Foe, the Dodgers have made the last five, six years, I would argue the Red Sox could have made every single one of those moves except two.
Like $700 million for Otani, okay, and Sasaki wanted to be on the West Coast.
But they could have signed Teosca Hernandez.
They could have traded for Glasnow.
They could have given Yamamoto $300 million if they really wanted to.
They could have given Betts that extension, not to relitigate that whole thing.
But every move the Dodgers have made, except for two of them, the Red Sox could have made.
And you can say the same thing now about the Blue Jays.
All these guys, the Blue Jays, so it's a conscious decision.
To not do it.
