It's also been explicitly upheld by the Supreme Court.

A donor who's accused of meddling in the judicial system, conservative real estate mogul Harlan Crowe, who this week we learned, thanks to ProPublica, has been taken to Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas.
Where's the outrage about Harlan Crowe?
Luxury trips for years for free on his yacht, on his private jet to an all-male private retreat.
One of these trips, says ProPublica, might have cost Thomas more than half a million dollars had Crow not paid for it.
Thomas says he did nothing wrong.
Crow also, according to a report from Politico back in 2011, gave half a million dollars to a right-wing non-profit run by Justice Thomas's lobbyist wife, Ginny.
So, do we call Clarence Thomas now a Crow-backed justice, in the same way that conservatives call Bragg a Soros-backed DA?
Oh, and this is where it gets so bizarre, so weird, and so disturbing.
According to 2014 reporting from the Dallas Morning News, Harlan Crow, this rich friend and benefactor to Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, has a home full of Nazi memorabilia and a backyard full of statues of dictators,
Stalin, Lenin, Ceausescu and more.
Totally normal, right?
One visitor there came across an autographed Mein Kampf and found Hitler's place settings and linens in the cabinet upstairs, discreetly kept in a closed cabinet so the swastikas are not on display.
According to technology researcher Dana Boyd, who says she visited Crow's home several years ago, no museum curator I know would glorify such artifacts that way.
