I mean, completely got shelled.
They had no way to come back from it.
Then game two, you get a stellar start and absolutely no offense.
The bats went cold.
And then game three, those two pieces are working.
And now your bullpen that's been relatively shut down.
and able to stand up to some tough stuff, they rolled out.
Weston Wilson, bless his heart, should not have been pitching as often as he already is for a position player, and he takes it on the chin every single time.
And so it was really cool to see that just after being swept there, and again, watching these different components fail individually, to come home for them, to regroup, to put it together again, that is what you want to look at.
And looking even at their last 5-10 splits, you're starting to watch those numbers grow
creep back up guys who are pushing 300 averages.
Those numbers are finally getting above 200, which is crazy to say for some of these guys and the resumes that they brought into this year.
But you need that because at the end of the day, it has been the offense and Gunnar Henderson has talked about it before where.
Two years ago, they were used to being a comeback team.
And then last year, they were a little too comfortable not wanting to get those early runs.
Not that they weren't trying, but they weren't panicking.
And so they go, we'll get them in the sixth, seventh inning.
It'll be fine.
And then those wouldn't happen.
