I think it was two or three days before the venue, the rally was supposed to happen.
And they cited significant community pressure.
And then the final venue canceled on us literally the morning of the rally as our team was pulling up to bring in all of the supplies and the equipment.
And so, and for the same reason, they were getting messages and a lot of pressure from, you know, other people in the establishment, other people in like the,
the landlord corporate space that were saying, you know, really outrageous things about what we were doing with our rally.
Apparently there was some accusation of it being a neo-Nazi rally, which was just ludicrous and incredibly dangerous and harmful.
And it was really frustrating.
And, you know, especially when we're talking about
going up against the establishment going up against incumbents and talking about policies and issues that a super majority of democratic voters support and being silenced and suppressed in this way um was incredibly incredibly um frustrating and and also just wrong um but they didn't stop us you know we we decided on the morning of with that final cancellation that um they
And, you know, Justin Pearson said this, and I loved it so much.
He said, the owners of the building can cancel this rally, but they can't stop us from building this movement.
And so we went to the People's House.
We went to the Capitol steps.
Within just a few hours, over 1,000 Denverites pulled up to hear what we were talking about, to hear our platform, to hear our message, and to commit to joining us in this fight for a better world, because...
They can do everything they can to try and silence us and stop us, but they failed and they'll continue to fail.
And we're going to take this home on June 30th.
Yeah.
And most especially because the people that we were working with directly on the ground, right, the staff and the immediate management of all these businesses, they were so excited to host us and really were helping us really graciously throughout the whole process.
But it was corporate landlords and ownership that put the
hold the plug on this from happening.
