I also think that just sounds crazy to say that kids can't run around.
But also, I can also see how tricky it is for teachers.
Like, there is no easy way to manage that, right?
It's because you either get kids that are running into each other or you get...
Yeah.
Yeah, although I do see that at some schools you do get the hose out and all the kids get hosed down, which is so much fun as a kid as well.
I can definitely, I have my moments, you know, when it's like, oh, I want to be there kind of helicoptering around my kids.
The thing I try and remember is if you were someone who had not been training for rugby league a whole season and then you have to get on the field and play against the Warriors you are going to get
mangled like you are really going to hurt yourself but if you train and you put yourself in situations where potentially you're going to injure yourself in training but then you take the field against the Warriors
your body is so much more protected because you've put yourself at risk before then.
So I just have to keep, that's what I think with my kids, like, let them build up this...
risk management, let them take those small injuries so that they can handle those big hits.
Which is cool because you're not saying you can't do that.
It's too dangerous.
But you're saying...
Well, and you're also just reminding them if you're going to do something risky, have a think about...
what are the potential consequences?
And then if you're comfortable with that, do it.
you know like and and so they determine they want to do them but sometimes they'll turn around and go oh yeah actually yeah like you know help me get down now yeah yeah um so for parents say wanting to take their kids out be a little more adventurous outdoors this weekend uh what advice would you give them and um i know you talk a lot too within schools about like you don't
need toys and things like that.
