Like, it's a down year for the American League as a whole.
And there are various reasons for that.
You didn't think Toronto was going to fall off the way they fell off after the World Series appearance last year.
Boston got off to such a putrid start you never thought that they would rally and I mean man did they rally in a big way they went from sellers two weeks ago to most likely doing something at the deadline and then you have the Yankees that once again have just been riddled by injury after injury after injury you basically have their two three four hitter gone in that lineup they were without two of their starting pitchers that are very meaningful to that rotation to start the year they're still without one in Carlos Rodon so just from the ALE's perspective and
The Rays always find a way.
They're always competitive, right?
They do such a great job with development.
You expect that they will be there or at the very least be a nuisance.
But I think the biggest thing as we approach this August 3rd deadline is you do not know who is going to be available, which is such a weird concept.
Because as you said, Lily, like basically by now, you have an idea of who you might be tracking, who you might be able to get.
But there's so much parity that there are so many teams that are still in the mix that they haven't decided whether
whether they're buyers or sellers.
And then at least from a Yankees perspective, some of the potential guys that they may have been interested in that may have been available just got injured.
And that would be something I would love to see.
A little rental for the Brewers a la CeCe Sabathia-esque, right?
