So instead of being corrective, we can just be a little bit more curious.

So again, maybe instead of saying

you're you're picking again and even your tone you can adjust your tone and I think the message can still sound uh a little challenging a little bit corrective um so you're picking again or you're picking again um or you need to you need to stop.

Um why are you doing that?

And again

if if we take this out of context, they're not terrible statements.

But in the context of hip pollen, skin pecking biting.

um they can come across as as uh really harmful.

So what we can do instead is that we can try to say, how have things been for you lately?

So we're kind of opening it up for them to communicate what's going on.

So instead of us pointing out, well, I can see things aren't so great because you're picking and pulling, we're giving them the time and the space to, so we've opened it up, but we're giving them that space to um share with us.

Or we can say, how can I support you right now?

Again, it's just another way to show that individual, I see you, I see that something's going on right now, I can see that you're you're struggling a little bit, without having to sort of say it outright or point fingers at exactly what's going on.

Again, you're giving them that opportunity for them to come to you and share.

what they would like.

So again, shifting from pointing out the behavior to understanding the person behind that.

Um, I think another one's really important is timing.

So choose the right moment.

Um so we don't always have to bring it up.

We maybe not bring up at the at the dinner table in front of everybody, or maybe whilst they're picking or pulling or biting, that can be quite a sensitive um moment.
