And the first book is called IQ.
And that's a great introduction to a...
A new style kind of detective who works in South L.A.
And I'm not expecting people over here to know about all the ins and outs of L.A.
But there's a freeway that cuts the city north and south called the 10 Freeway.
And I've always written north of the 10 Freeway.
That's where Hollywood is.
That's where Beverly Hills is.
That's where the mountains are.
South L.A.

really a place that very few writers other than Walter Mosley ever attempt to write about.
And Joey Day has, he grew up in that area and he's writing about it with heart and soul and it just comes alive.
And his character is great because he's mixed race.
He's very symbolic of Los Angeles.
And he's just trying to make sense of that city from a South looking North angle.
Yeah, it did because you put in a freeway, there's only certain roads under it or over it or so forth.
So it really separated the city.
And it's just when you say South LA, you know you're talking about south of the 10 freeway.
If you're talking about West LA, it's like west of 405.
