Appearances
Yeah, cheers, Joey.
Been a busy few weeks, yeah.
They were, Joe, and I'd agree with everything you said there.
You would have been expecting tip at home
alone for maybe winning the All-Ireland last year maybe the bit of hunger is not quite what it should be and you could see that but I think what you've seen here is
Maybe they just didn't catch fire all during the league.
Their winter was this fine, right?
So they were down a few players.
But you tend to find if you're making excuses and you're saying, we're missing this lad, we're missing that lad, we're just a little bit off, we'll turn it on someday.
It just hasn't happened.
Maybe a little bit like Kilkenny, maybe so far in the Champions League, just don't seem to be themselves.
And then when you do look for the big one, then it just wasn't there.
And, you know,
All the things that worked last year for them, and we've talked about this before, I don't know if I talked to you about it, but Owen Connolly went to fullback, Mikey Breen went to cornerback, Robert Doyle back from the forwards, Sam O'Farrell and Darren McCarty, these guys came in last year and everything seemed to work.
They got very solid in the middle of the field, Willie Connors and Conor Stake.
Conor Stake didn't start last year, Sam O'Farrell didn't start last year.
which was surprising, I thought.
I thought the two of them came in with a lot of energy.
But I know Samuel Farrell is a medical student.
He probably has a lot going on.
