So you really need to be firing and getting your best team on the pitch maybe a month out from the championship.
And Tipperary didn't get a chance to do that this year.
And probably a lot of the younger players were maybe, like I said, they brought in to huge success last year, Darren McCarty, Samuel Farrell-Ocean, I don't know, to a lesser extent.
And
you probably thought you'd see maybe two or three more of these lads of last year's under-20s coming through, but maybe they just weren't up to it physically yet, or whatever.
They have a lot of good players, as we've seen, even the other night they were beaten in a cracker in the under-20 by Clare, but a lot of good
huge partners on both teams so probably they probably needed a bit more a bit of an injection of freshness as well that they didn't seem to have whether these guys weren't ready or not so the word warning signs there but I still would have expected them
you know, to pick it up.
That's what you would expect from champions.
But as I say, it just didn't happen.
And players that had exceptional years last year, like Andrew Ormond, like Jake Morris, you know, Jake was still good, but not to the same level as last year.
And the energy they put into winning that in Ireland obviously left a smirk.
You know, I often saw it myself as a player.
It could be flying, I think you're flying.
And sometimes you'd be going bad in training and there might be a bit of tension and a bit of anger maybe around the place and maybe lads unhappy not being picked or whatever the thing would be.
and you could come out and just you had that sort of nervous energy that we're not going well and we're in trouble and next year you come out and perform whereas you can't be going too well and the skill level of this temporary panel and I've seen them in action in challenge matches even against Offaly over the last number of years and
And sometimes the second team used to come up and play us when we were down under angst a bit over the last couple of years.
And they were glad to get these matches.
But they'd be exceptional.
