I was really looking forward to a good Leinster final.
We have this Munster-Leinster bit.
It's a bit of a slag at some stages and a bit of a sneer.
But it had been a good competitive Leinster Championship, albeit it wouldn't be the same standard as Munster, we all know that.
Kilkenny going out, Dublin getting there.
And I don't know what mindset, they seemed to be very, very nervous.
But I don't know what was in their head going out or what they expected from Galway.
But it looked like to me that they just went out to just to play a game, they had no real plan.
they weren't expecting Galway but basically the ball was thrown in Galway had five forwards on the half forward line or further out the field and left Jason Rabbit inside and Paddy Smith and all the Dublin players followed for men and within
10 seconds Whelan had a ball over the bar and Galway then just completely played mind games with them and Dublin did they did get a grip and get the goal and got back to a point and said alright we'll settle down now but then Galway just cruised away again and it was it was aimless hurling from Dublin after that I think they put 29 balls
down the top, or tried to put them down, but they weren't putting them down, to John Hedgerton, because the strike wasn't good enough, against the win in the first half, they couldn't reach him, I think he got the first score of the game, and I think he assisted one more, he only got four or five possessions, in the game, but they had this thing, and they were half hitting the ball, it was going up in the air, and it was landing about 40, 50 yards from the goal, and Galway could just, crowd it out, Kyle Mannion picked up,
I don't know what possessions he had, but it was off the charts.
And I don't know what way he was playing.
He was playing, to me, he wasn't playing as an out-and-out sweeper.
He was marking men on set plays.
So if you get me, if it was a puck out for Dublin, he was pushing up on Donald Burke or on Brian Hayes or whoever it was.
But then the minute the ball went loose or into open play, he was gone, back around wherever he had to go.
And they found him time after time after time.
And he is too good a hurdler.
And he looked like he was only in second gear.
