There are state laws on the books that can be pursued against Fauci.
I don't want to get into it right now and speculate because this is going to be sifted out over the next number of months.
But I absolutely, as Attorney General, will be holding everybody accountable, whether they served in the Biden administration, whether they served in the Gavin Newsom administration here in California.
Whoever is found to have committed a crime is going to be convicted, is going to be prosecuted, and whoever is suspected of a crime will be investigated.
So
We're going to be tough on crime.
We're going to be tough on the law no matter who you are or where you are.
If you violated state law, state criminal law, we're going to get you.
You're going to be held accountable.
So I think Fauci's in a world of hurt.
He shouldn't have even been invoking the Fifth Amendment because I thought he had a pardon, right?
So this whole notion that he can just sit there and say, I plead the Fifth, I plead the Fifth.
Well, wait a second.
You had a pardon, which means you now can't be held.
The Fifth Amendment, those who invoke the Fifth Amendment in those contexts don't understand what the Fifth Amendment does.
It prevents self-incrimination.
But if you can't be held accountable at the federal level for anything that you say, then the Fifth Amendment doesn't apply.
So there's a whole lot of problems with this.
I thought Senator Howley did a very, very good job in his examination.
I reviewed his examination a couple of times.
