Donald Trump is the one l lighting lighting the fire.

Now he has a lot of assistance.

You ask why gas is so expensive, it's not just that Trump has taken us into this disastrous war, it's that every single Republican member of the House cast the deciding vote.

To allow this war to continue.

So there's there's blame to go around.

But what people want is for the this like ridiculous economy to actually deliver for them rather than just for Donald Trump and his billionaire mega buddies.

And it's very clear that Donald Trump wants those billionaires in his ballroom and he doesn't want to do anything that addresses uh the cost of living for Americans that are crying out for help.

Uh, that is the actual problem that people.

people are mad about and Donald Trump and every Republican in the House and Senate are to blame for it.

You know, it it it's is what intrigued me so much about your book, it reminded me of when I, you know, came into the RNC, um, I began to set out, you know, what direction I thought the party needed to go in after, you know, being blown up in two thousand six and blown up in two thousand eight against Barack Obama and the party beginning to fracture.

Um Tea Party C's were there but hadn't really crystallized just yet.

So there was

A lot of stuff roiling around.

We are in this cycle.

And you look at a state like yours, Wisconsin, and others that are right there in that bubble, there's a lot of discourse on where the Democratic Party is headed.

And so this idea of what the plan should be matters.

What the plan looks like matters.

We were just talking about what's going on.

on in Michigan just a bit ago, for example.

Are you at all worried about a contentious Democratic uh primary spilling over um into November uh in this cycle where you the where voters for whatever reason decide to stay home um and not play, very much as we saw in 2024.
