Uh you know, uh th s some of the is I I I I think we have to

uh come to grips with the fact that um some people ec uh some people expect uh these important th things about themselves to be magic and when they are when the lid is sort of lifted off of some of the processes that underlie them, they feel like something important has been lost.

Uh and and in particular these stories of collective intelligence, of processes, of of of uh self constructing uh b patterns, all this stuff.

Some people interpret this as um uh that the that the uh that the they've uh as as a deflationary story, that the that they've lost something important that they had before.

And um

And I and I think it's dangerous.

You know, this is this is there's only a segment of people that like a like a very particular, you know, you have to be a very thoughtful person in a certain sense to be destabilized stuff by stuff like this.

But but there are people who are who are in that in that zone who read read these things and uh and they think that what science has now shown is that they somehow don't exist, basically.

Right.

That's the that that the taken to its conclusion, that's where it goes.

And so uh I I I don't think that's

That's that's a good conclusion and I you know, and I and I've made materials about it that I send people to to say, you know, this is this is not the conclusion you should draw from this.

But um yeah, I I mean I I am concerned because because I think the stories that that we tell as scientists need to um not only be uh be the best picture of the world as we have, but actually be useful and constructive, not just for engineering, but actually for for for living, for people's lives.

And I uh it's

It's an assumption of mine that to the extent that we can tell better stories that they're actually going to be more more useful to people, not not destabilizing.
